Caitlin was recognized at Fluxx Middle East in Doha as top Founder in Integrated Legal and Creative Business Solutions for the United States

This recognition underscores Caitlin’s commitment to advancing sustainable, human-centered leadership through honest conversations about law and business. 

Caitlin served as Program Chair for the Maine State Bar Association’s Solo & Small Firm Summit, a section she is a part of revitalizing after years of inactivity. She successfully launched and hosted the Summit’s first annual event, drawing seventy-two solo and small-firm attorneys from across the state of Maine.

She also led a featured session, Creating an Inclusive and Accessible Online Presence for Legal Professionals, where attendees actively engaged in rethinking the true “currency” of their law firm websites and participated in substantive discussions on why accessibility must be a core component of modern legal practice – not an afterthought.

Caitlin had the honor of speaking on the panel “Normalizing Attorney Well-Being by Eliminating Stigma” at the Maine State Bar Association Summer Bar Conference. It is not easy to show up and speak openly about mental and physical health challenges, substance use, trauma responses and the weight many legal professionals carry — but this group did it with honesty, heart and even humor.  Caitlin drew from her own experience navigating physical health challenges while practicing law. Kudos to her fellow panelists Jonathan Duniz, Elyssa Smith, Justice O’Neil and Krystal Williams for being brave, brilliant voices leading the way in making the legal profession more sustainable, more human and (probably most importantly) more joyful.

An incredible honor for Caitlin as she was officially sworn into the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. This was made even more special by having her oldest son, Abram (rocking his bowtie!), with her in the courtroom and then a front-row seat to live and very lively SCOTUS arguments on a case involving a student with disability versus a school district.

Caitlin had the opportunity to speak with a group of high school students from the greater Portland area about careers in law, including both the traditional and non-traditional paths to getting there, as well as life beyond the JD. She also very specifically dove into the power of marketing and professional networking – skills that will serve them well no matter where their careers take them. They were a great group and several of them did very well being thrown into the spotlight to work on their elevator pitches.

It was a wonderful wrap-up to a month of proactive awareness work for Caitlin to go on a live segment on FOX59 Indianapolis with morning anchor Daniel Miller and client and colleague Elyssa Smith to discuss the importance of being proactive in your health, having conversations with your medical providers and what to do if this overwhelms you. Their conversation was centered around breast cancer awareness month and mammogram screenings in hopes of encouraging women to be proactive at the recommended age or earlier if they have particular concerns they wish to look into.

Caitlin had the pleasure of leading a session at the 2024 Maine State Bar Association Summer Conference with Cyrus Cheslak of Verrill on Navigating the Legal and Ethical Landscape: Social Media Confidentiality, Investigation Essentials & Means of Service.  They had a fantastic and engaged room of attendees for this ethics session, of which, interestingly, only two had ever attempted utilizing social media or text messaging for alternate service. As an early adopter of this (utilizing Facebook and MySpace professionally as far back as 2010!), Caitlin particularly wanted to encourage the attorneys in the room to not fear this practical, cost-effective and extremely effective option that is now regularly accepted upon filing of a sufficient motion.
